To illustrate the autobiographies that the Year 4 students were writing in English, they created their own self-portrait. Together we looked at the self-portraits of famous artists such as Vincent van Gogh. The only catch with this project though, was that the entire picture had to be made with paper. No pencils. No paint. No pens. (Well, almost - we made an exception for the nose!)
After reviewing the proportions of the face, the children learned to layer the paper to create their image. I think they did such a fantastic job of representing themselves. The "Who Am I?" display was a huge hit with the other students and parents on Open Day.
