This project provided the Year 3 students with the opportunity to extend their Science study of weather. We talked about warm and cool colours and the types of weather they represent. We also looked at how we can use simple symbols to represent different forms of weather, as seen in weather forecasts. For example, a raindrop for rain or a lightning bolt for storms. The students then used these symbols to make bold patterns.
The children had fun creating a huge pile of textured paper, using paints with brushes, combs, stamps, bubble wrap and more. They used these papers to cut out landscapes showing various types of weather. I love the energy that these collages have!
